Excellent essay. And very pertinent to our new nationalism. I'd rather say that divine light, fire, or God or whatever metaphor/image we use is more present in humankind not by reason but by imagination (which is integral and basic to reason).

This, BTW, is a choice for panentheism over theism or atheism--in my imagination.
