I agree. But I believe that those of us who feel “called” to philosophy need a sense of humor, the sense of also being on earth (humus) with the masses (which is the root meaning of humor and humility) by joining in the making fun of us philosophers. One of my greatest philosophical mentors is the late Terry Pratchett. Aristophanes put Socrates in the Clouds. I bet Socrates (if he were still alive) loved it.
