Thanks for a very good article. I will start reading your other stuff. I agree that I am loath to oppose Chomsky because I sync with a lot of his politics, but I also consider myself a postmodern thinker and so do not sync with his views on postmodernism. (Which I thinks gets his own linguistic theories in trouble. ).
It is because of him and other people (usually scholastic medievalists) who are not familiar with philosophical and scientific tradition and method, that I had to invent the term “transmodern” to explain myself. Yes, we postmodernists pursue truth, the good, and the holy like everyone (I wish) else but recognize our inherent uncertainty and limitations. And I would add the difference between faith and belief.
