Almost everyone in American society agrees on is that the people are fundamentally divided not only in two political parties but in many diverse beliefs and principles that are inciting violence and maybe a resumption of civil war no matter who wins the November election.

Every lasting political culture and economy has an origin myth that promises a future. A myth is not a fancy. It is a shared and progressing narrative for an association of people who are or want to be citizens and feel at home in their tribe or nation. It is a critical history, a living story, that shows the virtues and vices and especially the aspirations of its founders and heroes and all we had to overcome within and without to form and live our values and future goals personally and collectively. It is the backbone of our culture, our science, our economy, and our polity. It is what achieves unity in diversity, boundaries for greater inclusion, and our public faith in each other.

I am organizing the origin myth or story of humankind into four chapters:

1) Cosmogenesis: The Big Story as being discovered by Contemporary Science.

2) Homo Sapiens and the expansion of consciousness as told by phenomenology, neuroscience, and paleontology.

3) Democracy in America as told by contemporary critical historians and
