This is a thoughtful reflection. And that’s what philosophy is all about. It’s reflecting on what we do and why and even maybe how it relates to what other people do. A scientist reflects on her craft as a doing in our world. An artist reflecting on what he does, and why, and how. A political actor reflecting on what she does and why and how. In reflecting, philosophy hooks up with people today and throughout the history of human thinking and acting who have tried to understand the human condition and possibility. That which drives their science, their art, their faith, their activity in their world.

It’s not a trivial exercise.
