Very good piece.
I identify myself as postmodernist. But because postmodernism has been identified as post-truth and totally relative and so arbitrary, I use the word transmodernist. My philosophical mentors are in the American tradition of pragmatism and the European tradition of phenomenology. (I must admit a bit of Zen Buddhism thrown in). The t-word also accepts its gratitude to the Enlightenment and Modernity—especially scientific methodology for pursuing what we experience and articulate as beliefs in many symbolic ways. But also critiques the errors and failures of modernity.
I like to say we substitute both absolutism and relativism by relationalism. Or contextualism in our thinking and action. And, yes, we pursue truth, equality and freedom which is progressively achieved by thinking and acting together.
