Well done! You are right to distinguish Jesus before and after Paul. (Saul Alinsky said that Jesus like Yahweh was the spiritual inspiration but Paul like Moses was the political organizer).
And you distinguish rightly the Christian cult before, during, and after Empire (Roman and all the others including the American) which was also an insight of the Protestant Reformation reacting against the Holy Roman Empire.
But I am also entranced with the theory of John Dominic Crossan (one of the founders of the Jesus seminar) who finds great similarities between Jesus and contemporary followers of Diogenes the Cynic. This shows the humorous countercultural connection between the Black Palestinian Jew and wandering anti-establishment followers of Socrates.
I liked your distinction between humanism and theism which resonates theoretically and practically today.
